Local Recipe For Success
Bucks Locavore ~ Local Event is a one of a kind event where great things happen. The recipe for success is created by mixing: one-part locavore, one-part buy local, one-part networking, one-part micro-business incubator, one-part community focus, one-part party and mix with a generous helping of outstanding community members and leaders. After three hours of processing with care you have an event that raised food for our local food pantry, created some new local products and created the stage for local businesses to develop and flourish. The cherry on top of the 2020 Bucks Locavore ~ Buy Local Event was when Honorable Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick recognized the success of the event with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol and a commendation honoring its 11 years of success and contribution to our community.
Award Winning Event
Bucks Locavore ~ Buy Local voted several years running both Best Foodie Event by Bucks Happening and Best Business Event by The Intelligencer, Bucks Locavore is a one of a kind evening encouraging business networking while offering a fresh perspective on what it means to shop locally. Our participating producers not only benefit from relationships with new suppliers and local consumers, but with each other. Many meet at Bucks Locavore ~ Buy Local Event and start using each other’s goods to offer a new brand new product.
Truly Local Taste
New this year, Anna Perkins from Anna P’s Catering talks about partnering with her fellow producers, “We loved participating in this year’s event. It was great to be included with so many great local food vendors and also wonderful to talk with so many of the people in our community. We use Castle Valley Mill grits for our polenta, and that’s what we served at the event. We topped it with beef short ribs, roasted winter vegetables and pickled shallots. It’s one of our most popular combinations. We could showcase how we use Castle Valley products and guests could see how delicious they are.” Another great example of the collaboration is Laurie’s Chocolates who offered her award-winning chocolates infused with another participating vendor, Homestead Coffee Roasters.
